BBC headers

Ok, I'm a Ford guy so maybe you guys could help me out a bit....

I really like the way my BBF's behave with the 4 into 2 into 1 merge collectors..... I'd like to do the same thing for the 'maro when I eventually get around to building headers for it.... My question is this, on a BBC, which tubes should be paired up on the 4 into 2 part of the header???? We've paired them up on the Fords to give a bit of assist to the cylinder scavenging and wondering if it makes a difference on a BBC?????

Pat helped me once on some step headers for a Ford, will step headers be better, or should I combine the step headers and the merge collectors???? Got to build them anyway, might as well try to pull a bit more power while I'm at it.....

Just don't know where to start on this thing Pat!!!! I've even considered building a set of outsiders for it....tough to find a place to sneak them out from under the hood though!!!!!!

that car is a big pain in the ass to do headers on they have to bend fast out of the heads

yup, starting to look like it.... any good ideas to do a set of outside pipes without having to build a whole new cowl??? heck, not much room underneath for them either!!!!!!

yep oval EX pipe or one big pipe runing a long the pass side up in the drive shaft tunnel and a one to two muffler with dual tails that is how i did the last one used parts of the MAC kit you have the bbc mock up in the car

Yeah, I have one out to the farm, should go get it this weekend. I've got a 4 bar in the car, so at least I don't have that torque arm to work the exhaust around.... Because they're so tight on the bottom, that's why I'm thinking some outsiders.... just not much room to work and big tubes through the fenderwell/cowl area...... Oh well, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it!!!!!

Here is a pic of the Hooker 2226 headers installed on a thirdgen Camaro. Not sure if it will help but might give you an idea of routing.

Thanks for the picture... just not a lot of choice on where to put them, huh??? I don't run the torque arm, so at least I can keep one on each side of the driveshaft..... Oh well, guess I'll just have to mock things up and get to work...

I was out in the garage awhile today sanding Tom's fenders til my knees gave out for the day...... Looked at the 'Maro and going from the picture Blackroc posted thinking maybe with a little rearranging on the footwells I could run the collectors out behind the tire, with a little fender notching, and then just go to a set of outsiders.... The Camaro Blackroc posted the pic of has the ground effects on it, mine doesn't which should make room for some pipes.....

Think a set of outsiders would look good on this vintage of 'maro??????
