You used just oil to install the lifters, correct? Don't use assembly grease on hydraulic cams or lifters. Clogs the lifters if you do. Grease for solids, oil for hydraulics.
No, you should alway's use cam lube on the cam lobes and lifters on a mech. or hyd. cam.
