Actually I wish I could use the weight saving benefits of an aluminum block (and heads for that matter), but the salt water would eat right thru it. I don't want to bother with a closed cooling system, which would add more weight and trouble in the long run. Oh well, have to stay with this 454 block, or maybe switch to a 502 if I could find one real cheap.
With that in mind, what is the difference between a 454 block and a 502 block. I assume different crank and bore sizes, but can a 454 block be made into a 502? Probably a dumb question but....:confused:
