intake crossover

Okay so I have a edelbrock performer intake which has the air crossover, I plan on putting a plate on top wheir the air pump came in. Now on the crossover part that goes across the the inside of the manifold I plan on putting the gasket on that doesnt have that. Is their also a metal block off for additional support that I can put in the passage? I thought I have seen that before but cannot seem to locate that now. Is their anything else I have to do special because of blocking that off? By the way I do not have to worry about emissions for this, it is too old now. Thanks.
