If all you're looking to do is raise compression, sure the small closed chamber heads will work, but they don't flow well at all... valves are small and intake will be shrouded no matter how much you work the chamber.
There may be other opinions but I think 9 times out of 10 you'd be better off with the heads you've got (unless they're peanut ports?) give up a little compression for a lot more flow...
two cents,
Chris
Not slamming you, but did you think this would be enough info to get responses? Need to know cam specs, piston specs, current compression ratio, have current heads been milled, block been deck at all etc.Quote:

He's gotten three so far...four including this one :D ...kiddingQuote:

You will raise compression :) with a smaller chamber.
You MIGHT have a problem :HMMM: if you have domed pistons designed for OPEN chambered heads.
You MIGHT have a problem :HMMM: with detonation (correct me if I have the wrong term in there) if your compression winds up being too high. Is it a pump gas motor?
I agree with Skids 100% but more info will yield more opinions as 30-A says....
