ACL Bearings with a hole?
I just got my ACL Bearings in PN: 8B743P-10 , now the rod Bearings have a notch out of the one side, when u put them to gather thay makes a circle with the 2 hafts it is on the opposite side of the locking tabs. what is this for ? My old ones didn’t have that hole in them? I am running Eagle "SIR" 5140 Forged I-beam Connecting Rods P/N: ESP-6135P can I run them with that hole in there? Or shud I get some different ones?Last edited by BBMonte; 04-28-2007 at 02:25 PM.

if ou are saying that you have one hole at the bottom 1/2 of the bearing that is ok .this would be a H bearing setup for a alum rods with a hole in the shell they will work fine in a steel rod engine

this is a H bearing cut for a large radii they will have a Upper and Lower bearing half make sure you put them in rigth they will have upper or just a U on the inside of the bearing and the lower or just L if this crank has a large radii

if that is the case i kind of think it might help by pooling up oil in that little hole when the crank oling holes line up

you are not pooling that much oil a very small amount it is not any thing to worry about

Pooling is good for retention. Go with Pat on this. Older rods had the matching slot for this app. It won't hurt a thing and the reciprocating assembly doesn't care whether or not that it has it.What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

Well I've sure gotten old too so don't worry about it! I've had two bypass surgeries, new knees, fought prostate, cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,...
