Trans rebuilding educational tools?

No transmission section here so I figured this is the best place to inquire.

for the guy who has to try at least eveyrthing for himself at least once:

I have watched several times, but never rebuild a trans myself. Need to do my Th400 for my big block. Like most things want to do it once right the first time (which probably means sending it out, but I have to try at least once) Question is any recomendations on a kit, with book/instructions/ videos etc...and educations tools?

I've seen some how to video's and books on eBay and at Amazon, might want to try there....
