 did the car have a soild cam in it ? did someone put oil restrictors in ??did you take them out ?

 I see what you mean and I had (EDIT: had NOT...) thought of looking at it from a "cant bleed down" perspective. The most I can do at this point is just replace it and throw it back together.  Pat, not a solid and never had one. It was a stocker w/ hydraulic. Never been apart until the day I bought it (to my knowledge).
