Have excellent oil pressure...havent noticed a change with rpm.

Since I had no problem priming the motor, I would agree on the lifter...high oil pressure AND ticking...they are not ALL noisy on that side...some are very quiet.

You got that right...it drives me nuts to think about what is happening inside them at different rpms...
