If you had to guess
I bought a 454, with stock compression and small oval port truck heads. I suspect the compression to be in the 8.0-1 range. the guy swapped cams, its an RV cam .500 lift, with .238 @ .050. I bought a used weiand stealth intake and 750 vac holley carb. With a set of 1-3/4 tube headers will this motor make 325 HP? i just want a daily driver i can run on pumpgas on the highway?9.65 @ 137 MPH 1.39 60' More left in the car.

If the duration is correct I.M.O. you have to much cam for your compresion.
With that low 8.0 to 1 comp. ratio.I would look at cams that are no more than 210 to 215 at .050. for duration.

So installing the trex bed wood got me thinking about all the heat from the exhaust and the possible melting of the wood. Also noticed the floor on the passenger side getting hot on a warm day. So...
