    synthetic - yes or no?

I'm looking for some thoughts on whether to try full synthetic oil (such as Mobil 1) in my 454 with hydraulic roller cam. My spring pressures are not that high - about 350 over the nose.
I'm kind of attracted by the extra measure of protection they talk about with synthetic, but is it just talk? Is it worth the extra bucks?
If anyone recommends the stuff - what viscosity? Car isn't used in winter, and summer temps in UK don't often exceed 90 degs. It's a street car basically.

    Thanks, Chris

i use synthetic in pretty much anything i drive.. It does make a difference in performance and mpg efficiency but not to sure on how much it really protects. Less friction is definetely a plus so i would say it wouldnt hurt to try it.. Mobil 1 is a little on the expensive side for me, I just stick with Castrol or Valvoline..
