		budget 427
hey guys, need help with a build

looking for 500hp and similar torque.

i'm 18 and naturally don't have endless amounts of money, why 427 some may ask??

simple, i have a 4 bolt mains 427 block and crank, so lets see your ideas.
incase this helps, its going into a 1957 chevy 2dr sedan that i have.;)

What's your budget? Do you have cylinder heads?

That's a kick-ass engine, but BBC's cost a bit more than SBC's. Last one I built was for my '68 Vette. I spent about $5k in '88 blueprinting that engine. I would do many things different today, especially dropping the CR with open chamber aluminum heads. I think you could drop $8k in a 'heart beat'.

cast steel crank $450 recon rods $120 or i beams $300 set of hypre pistons$300.+.060 over on the bore this will get you a 496 then you can get the hp and tq very easy with some work on a set of bigOports

yeah i just have the block and crank.

i would pefer oval port heads as this is a street car. that being said aslong as the car had a lil piss thats all the concern i have.

that being said it might be better to use one of my small blocks instead.

lets keep the budget around $5000 though, thats all i can really afford for go fast parts at this point.

$5000 You Can Build A Very Good Big Block:D well i can. i have done many for more and a lot less .i like building the hi rent stuff but love it when one of my custormers go out and beat someone that has a $$ better engine$$ and they have alot less money in there s the fun engines are the ones you can build that will not cost a arm and a leg
