		427 tall deck
Well This will be my first ever BBC and I have a few questions.
 (1) I have heard that in order to use an aftermarket intake, the tall deck block requires the use of spacers between the head and manifold. Are they easy to come by? Does this require a change in the distributor or are they the same length? I would not think so as long as the intake meets the block deck.
Are the harmonic balancers the same on all BBC or does the tall deck block use one specific to its self?
Are there any other weird things about a tall deck motor I might need to know about? It's going in a 1935 ford 3 window coupe!

 thanks

Spacers if you use a regular intake, or they make a tall deck intake. Distrib. is different...you need an adjustable collar. Just out of curiousity, why did you go with a tall deck? Im active in a couple other big block boards, and this is the only one where a huge number of people that build a BBC, use a tall deck block. Im not saying it's no good, Im just wondering why, with all the different parts and fittment issues (headers), that someone wouldnt just look for a standard deck block. If it's cheap or free, I guess that's a plus! John

		For me, it was cheap.
Complete running big block & TH 400 for $600 bucks.
Not a hard decision to get a project on the road.

 Thanks for the Distributor input.

you will have to find new or used damper for a internal balance like for a 396-402-427. 454 WILL not WORK the stock dist will not work like john said and the oil pan may not fit hard to say on this will have a to do with it a car or truck you can get the spacers any where they are not hard to get
