Adjusting roller tip rockers....
Soon I will be cranking up my freshly rebuilt 454 and I want to make sure I have my rockers adjusted correctly. Here's what I did: I set the number one cylinder @ 0 degrees TDC. Then I ran the lock nut down (#1 cyl int and exh rockers) to the point where I could not lift the rocker tip up off the top of the valve tip, then I ran the nut down an additional quarter turn. I continued to adjust the rest of the cylinders following the firing order by turning the crank. Is this the correct way to adjust the rockers? I was told that I should not run the rockers down to the point where the push rod will not spin because that would possibly bend a push rod upon lifter pump up.....
