I just got a 396 this morning and I was wondering what year and such it was. I have these two nubers off the block and heads. The block says Hi-per truck pass and has a casting #3855961 P and the heads have #3856206 It has small domed pistons. Any help would be great.

Heads are '65 and '66, oval port, closed chamber, about 97cc size. That's a pretty good head if you want to use a small dome or even a flat top piston. You can build decent compression without using a large dome piston. John
