    carburetor size

Has any of you guys used AED Carbs. www.aedperformance.com. on your street rods. I'm looking for a good carburetor for my mud drag pickup. The motor is a 454 with about 450 hp-500tq. They want to sell me a 750 ho carb that flows about 800 cfm supposedly. 500 dollars. I was wondering what you guys like to run on your big blocks.

HI sawking I use Holleys not to complecated and easy to work on currently have 4150 pro series 750 double pumper it's fine to use to get my car running but to small for my cam and MODS I have donefor 1/4 and 1/8th mile.had this carb on 10.00sec nova and at around the 3000 foot mark the car would stop pullin with same cam, found out that when go with a big cam like this engine do's not make enough Vacume to operate vacume secondarys properly so when car is ready for test and tune it will get a Holley 4500 series 1050 or1150 if I change to BRODEX heads.

    Vacum Secondarys

HAy SAWKING, If your truck will see any street driving might want to go with a carb that has Vacum Secondarys be a little better on Gas.If full on drag truck go with a Mechanical- Secondary carb. Hay I just made a Funny like your Gas milage is for Crap to begain with. 450 to500 HP ,you probably run 44" super swampers 4:11's front and Back Gear good luck Man.we run Sunowco 110 octane at $5.00 a gallon in a 5 gallon fuel cell, get 3 passes befor toping off.Any way just some food for thought on the Carb thing. Remember;IT'S BETTER TO BURN OUT THAN TO FADE AWAY!BBL-CHEVY ALL THE WAY.

Do you guys think that a mighty demon will perform better than a holley. I never used a mighty demon but I have heard a lot of good things about them.
