I picked up a 454 engine this weekend at a swap meet. The guy said it came out of a 76 chevy dullie truck. I would like to know how much horsepower or torque the motor has. I got two numbers off the block gm6 and 3963512. I have no clue what these two numbers are?Thanks

Hey Denny thanks for the specs. I was planning on rebuilding the engine, and i was wondering how could i get some bigger hp numbers without spending alot of money? For example is there a certain compression ratio that i should go with, any special work on the heads, cam. any suggestions would help.

yes you can .how much do you want to spend? need the head numers. you can get 400 hp out of a 454 without trying and with a lot of stock parts
