What do you know about 427's?

I finally ID'ed my engine and it turns out to be a 427 Chevy Tall Block. I found a lot of stuff at www.MORTEC.com but not as much as I might like to know. Here's what I have:

    Block: 473478 (427 Tall Block - 4 Bolt Main)
    Casting Date: K 1 78 (November 1, 1978 (the 8 is fuzzy))
Next to casting date: Marine GM8
Inside the BellHousing: Drivers side - "F" Passengers - "TRUCK"
Drivers Side over oil filter housing: Truck 7 (Upside-Down)

Head Casting Number: 343772 (427 heads)
Inside, Top, Front of head: 26 74
    Behind that: GM4T
    Behind that: GMC

How good is this engine? What are it's weaknesses? Can anyone tell me what vehicle this came out of? Thanks!

It's not really work unless you'd rather be doing something else!
