Fly wheel Problem please help
I just put a big block chevy in my 78 pickup tonight. Had it all bolted up except for the the torque converter. I got under it turned the flywheel around and around and found out the holes are about a half of a hole off from the flywheel.I never heard of such a thing before. So I slid the transmission back took the flywheel off and compared it to a small block one I had laying around. The small block one has a smaller diameter set of holes and a set of bigger diamter set of holes. The big block one just has a set of bigger diameter set of holes. Piss me off. I was thinking could I just take a die grinder and get the holes slotted out. I know there balanced and stuff so I would have to do each hole evenly. Or should I try to find another flywheel with the right diameter bolt hole pattern. Thanks for any advice. Mud runs are coming to soon. Sorry about the little novel i wrote. I just trying to vent a little.
