A lot of '70's Chevy station wagons had 402's in 'em. From what I hear, the pickins are pretty slim lately for 454's out of trucks and such.
Look for early to late 70's chevy p/u's and suburbans. The 454's were fairly common in them.
alright, thanks guys
let me know were the junk yard is that has more than one big block 454 in it ?? for a good prices were i live i have not seen one in years good luck**)
I went to the junkyard loking for ANY BBC to use as a mockup. Could b in any condition, it could have a hole in it for all I cared I told them. They had 1 tired 454 they were asking 500 bix for. beyond that, nuttin'.
World Products & Merlin sell 'em all day long. ;)
Don't overlook the motorhomes. Many of the Chevy chassis ones are a sure bet to have a 454 in them. Most of them are low mileage. Check out some of the RV centers for a wrecked one.
i use to get all my blocks from the scrape yard but they will not sell blocks no more motorhomes go cheap at car auctions but you get a big wooden box with a truck frame what do you do with the rest of it?? world products & dart make them but i like to build and sell the mild stuff so a guy can have fun with out spending big $$$ i love my donovan tall deck. but i like to build low dollar stuff to
You take the rest of the carcus to the scrap yard and get some of your money back.
