cam and piston question on my 454

i'd like to know if i could get some opinions on this cam,sounds pretty aggressive to me.

edelbrock 7162,
Lift: Intake .560" Exhaust .573"
Advertised Duration: Intake 300° Exhaust 306°
Duration @ .050" Lift: Intake 240° Exhaust 246°
Lobe Seperation: 112°
was going to use the performer plus intake as well.the block is a 454 punch 30 over and i am considering .280 domed hypert pistons.

my other question is,what kind of headaches could i expect with the domed pistons?.i've never used domed pistons and hear alot of talk about spark travel,detonation etc.

this will be a weekend driver and would rarely sees any highway miles,just to town and back and i would keep it under 60mph with the 4:11 rearend

what type of heads are you using aluminum or iron closed chamber or open early oval port or square port and is your comp ratio going to be

stock iron heads casting 781,which are oval open chamber.comp ratio with the domed pistons 10:1 from what i've been told

That should work fine...comp.ratio will depend on deck height, gasket, few other variables, but 10/1 is a ballpark number with those .280 domes. Flame travel is always an issue with a domed piston, anything that is in the way of the flame travel will mess it up a little, but it's not anything that you will notice or feel. Im not a big fan of Edelbrock cams, but that one should work good with your combo.....Im sure with those specs, it will need at least a 10/1 C/R. Is it an automatic or standard...if auto, what stall converter?? 781's are great heads too, dont get rid of them.

thanks for the assist.i have an automatic th400,looking to go with a 3500 stall.the car im looking to put this in is a mid 60's chevy,so it's going to be a heavy car.
