Thread: Oil pressure location

Is there an alternate location for the oil pressure pickup other than the back of the block next to the distributor.

There are a couple of ports that are blocked off close to the oil filter. I have heard that using them may result in a false pressure reading.

 Anyone have any suggestions.

The engine is a 509 Merlin from World Products. Should have all the same ports as a GM block.

 Thanks in advance.

The port directly above the oil filter will work. Chevy has put them there for years. The picture is from a '71 Vette.Jack

This is the Autometer sender on my project engine. They sure make a big, ugly sender . . .Last edited by Henry Rifle; 04-30-2005 at 07:53 PM. Jack

Thanks for the help. It will make things alot easier than trying to get to the port on the backside by the distributor.

The engine is installed and is a VERY tight fit. Didn't someone say hindsight is 20/20?
