Since by your own admission you have a motor that would pull a motorhome around well, then going to a higher gear may not hurt perfomance as much as you think, especially in a light vehicle like you have. Use all that torque you built! Maybe try something in the 3.36-3.42 range and go with those shorter slicks, I am betting your times will actually improve compaired to your street tire runs.
