Hi Brian,

We ran the same motor you've described until last summer when we changed to rectangular port heads. It feels a bit stronger now, but that is purely subjective (trying to rationalize the $1200 spent). It will work great, save the money to work out the chassis issues as it trys to deal with the extra 250ft/lbs of torque.

Be careful with the head gaskets on the "O" ringed block. I assume you're using an anealed solid copper gasket, we had a small water leak the first time using a spray on coating. Took the heads off and re-anealed the gaskets to dead soft. We then used a SMALL bead of high temp silicon around each of the water passages on both sides of the gasket after a good cleaning of all surfaces.

Regards, Mark
if you dont mind me asking what sort of time was you running in the 1/4 mi. with that motor ?
