I have a 454 and it will surge, when I am warming it up, it get's worse when I depress the pedal fast. After twenty minutes of driving it get's a little better. I run 92 octane, and run a 750 Quadrajet. Is this normal for cold engine's?

I've checked the choke, it opens after a few minutes, all the way.
Could the carb be to rich, or to lean?
Is thier a way to check that?
I've checked for vacum leaks, couldnt find any , it really does'nt run better at top end, in tell it's warmed up. I dont know if the fuel pump is worn out, I'll check. Thanks
First thing you need to do is take off the Rochester and throw it in the dumpster. The heat riser spring probally is probally gone. Get a Holley 750 Vac. Sec. Save yourself some pain.
